Health & Safety
At Staples, our people are our most valuable asset. So the pursuit of a safe and healthy working environment is a critical goal of all Staples operations. Staples is fully compliant with strict safety policies and procedures which meet or exceed the requirements of all applicable laws in Ireland.
Training
Staples supports the principles of lifelong learning, encouraging staff to take responsibility, with support from management and internal resources, to enhance their skills and knowledge, and where possible, meet their personal aspirations.
Staples supports the training and development of all its employees through a twice yearly appraisal process. Both Manager and employee have the opportunity to discuss the training and development required to improve both the performance of the employee and ultimately the performance of the company.
Staples has achieved Investors in People accreditation and supports their philosophy as a best practice model for linking business performance, training and development activities and individual development.
Communication
Staples endeavours to keep all employees informed about the business, its achievements, plans and problems. However, communication is a two way process and we have made considerable effort to involve employees in the business and to listen to any they may have to improve our effectiveness as a business. This is done through regular town hall meetings, yearly employee opinion surveys and suggestion schemes
Equal Opportunities & Diversity
Staples is committed to equal opportunity and diversity. This commitment means that all employees and job applicants will be treated equally and fairly without regard to sex, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, age, religious belief or sexual orientation. Employees with disabilities will receive fair treatment and be considered on their ability to do the job, following reasonable adjustments, where appropriate. Decisions on recruitment, selection, training, promotion and career management are based on objective and job-related criteria.
Staples believes that an effective equal opportunity and diversity policy will enable the company to attract and retain good quality staff and allow such staff to develop their talents and skills and thereby contribute to the success of the organisation.
